Sago Palm

30” x 40” | oil on canvas | $3,500

Captured from a Sago Palm plant outside of my children’s preschool and our church, this painting shows the complex network of thin, linear leaves that layer and rest to create a dense web of green. Upon closer viewing, the blues, yellows, red, and pinks of our familiar green branches are broken down in this otherwise rigid and familiar structure as crisp edges and soft lines create depth and space in the vast painting, challenging the actual scale that the subject actually represents.
