The crisp lens focal point of the sharp edges of the shells heighten our senses to the dangers and beauty below our feet on the shores of Edisto Beach, South Carolina.  The jagged oyster shells painted with sharp lines that recede and soften in space, giving way to crashing waters of the Atlantic Ocean.  While “Watch Your Step” is anything but soft, it is still a beautiful reminder of the colors that compose our sands and our landscape, and that we share our shores with living creatures.
